The Japanese Programme is a three-week homestay-based programme designed to provide intensive study of both Japanese language and contemporary Japanese culture. The programme takes place four times per year: February and July for intermediate-level classes; June and November for elementary-level classes.
Participating students live with a Japanese host family in the vicinity of the campus. Although home life in modern Japan is a blend of traditional Japanese and Western living styles, it may still be different from what students are used to. This experience gives them a valuable opportunity to learn about Japanese culture and language.
Students enrolled in the Japanese Programme study for three hours in the morning with experienced language instructors. In the afternoon, they attend lectures on contemporary Japan or participate in cultural activities, assisted by a Japanese language partner. Field trips to various places in the Kansai area are also included in the programme.
The programme fee includes homestay accommodation including two meals per day, field trips and cultural programmes, textbooks, and local transportation costs. It does not include travel costs to and from Japan or your daily expenses.*
If you would like to take part in the programme, please contact the international exchange programme office at your own institution.
* Programme fee does not include travel expenses between MGU and your home country, or handling charges for remittance of tuition fees.
* The maximum number of students eligible for this programme is forty. |
