Transfer Admission Examination (For International Students)

Application Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Japanese, and also should meet either one of the following criteria.

<Transfer Admission Examination, Transfer from a two-year university>

  • Applicants need to have graduated from two-year college, or be expected to graduate in March 31, 2019 as an international student in Japan.
  • Applicants who have graduated from college equivalent to a Japanese two-year college outside Japan, and have scored above 280 on the Japanese Language section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) run by the Japan Students Services Organization (JASSO) in 2017 or 2018 before our application period. Or, applicants need to have passed the examination of N1 on Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) run by the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services and Japan Foundation in 2017 or 2018 before our application period.

※EJU has 4 sections of listening, listening-reading comprehension, reading comprehension, and writing, the total score is 450.

<Transfer Admission Examination, Transfer from a four-year university>

  • Applicants need to have been enrolled for over two years at four-year university and have acquired more than 62 credits, or have acquired these credits as of March 31, 2019 as an international student in Japan.
  • Applicants need to have graduated from four-year university or completed the second year with equivalent credits outside Japan, as well as have scored above 280 on the Japanese language section of the examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) run by the Japan Students Services Organization (JASSO) in 2017 or 2018 before our application period. Or, applicants need to have passed the examination of N1 on Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) run by the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services and Japan Foundation in 2017 or 2018 before our application period

Screening Procedure

Screening is based on the following three methods.

  • Document Screening
    In case of qualification 2 for transfer Admission Examination: Transcript of the Japanese Language Section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students or N1 Certificate of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test
  • Interview
  • Writing Examination (Essay)

Writing Examination (Essay)

Department of English and Intercultural Studies Write an essay pertaining to international studies and liberal arts.
100 points (80min)
Department of Sociology Write an essay pertaining to sociology.
100 points (80 min)
Department of Social Welfare Write an essay pertaining to social welfare.
100 points (80 min)
Department of Law Write an essay pertaining to law.
100 points (80 min)
Department of Economics Write an essay pertaining to economics.
100 points (80 min)
Department of Business Administration Write an essay pertaining to business administration, commercial science or accounting.
100 points (80 min)
