自己紹介

My previous research has been mainly into study abroad programs, particularly the preparation period before students study abroad. I have also conducted research into online study abroad programs. Currently I am interested in working holidays and why Japanese young people are choosing to take them. I want to learn more about whether the experiences young people have while on working holidays are beneficial, and the impact these experiences have on their future lives and careers. I think time spent studying or working overseas can be life-changing.

MESSAGE

Procrastination is the thief of time. In other words, the longer you spend thinking about doing something, the less time you will have to do it...and the less likely you are to do it. I have met so many students in my career who have talked about the big dreams they have, but they haven't put them into action.
Four years of university will go by so quickly and, before you know it, you are working full time in an important job and you don't even have time to think about those dreams anymore. My advice to you is this - if you want to do something, hurry up and make it happen! If you don't know what you want to do, search out new experiences. Say 'yes' more often than 'no' or 'maybe'. Talk to people you haven't spoken to before. Take a class about something that you haven't studied before. Try a new club activity. Take some risks. Put down your smartphone!
The happiest, most successful students I have ever taught have followed this approach to life. They say 'yes' more than they say 'no' or 'maybe'. You have plenty of opportunity to say 'no' and 'maybe' when you are old. Don't get old before you've had a chance to be young!
